PART II
“GO AND INSTIL INTO HEARTS
THE ABUNDANCE OF MY HEART”
2.
THE EFFUSIONS
Let us now allow
ourselves to become involved by contemplating the effusions that Bd Alexandrina
transmits to us from the divine Heart of Jesus.
They are divided in
two paragraphs, to facilitate the reading, but the division is arbitrary,
because some fragments contain elements common to both.
* These fragments
had been extracted from the book “Venite a me” (ed. house Mimep-docete), edited.
The chronological order of each chapter is adhered to.
1 -
The times are grave
Humanity, poor
humanity! Sinners, poor sinners!
You would prefer not to
have eyes to see, ears to hear, heart to feel, nor reason to understand.
Prepare yourselves,
prepare yourselves, if you want to be saved!
O my daughter, O my
daughter, how painful is this revelation! (...)
My Father’s divine justice falls, it
falls, it comes to punish. It is the punishment of crimes, of iniquities (...) S
(13-4-51)
The crimes of the world
have reached their limit; O, the gravity of the danger!
Justice falls, falls:
my Eternal Father cannot do otherwise. S (29-6-51)
Every father advises
love; every father who reprehends is correct and is faithful to the law of the
Lord, so too am I faithful to the law of my Father. S (22-2-52)
The world does not
listen to the Lord’s voice! Sinners do not fear the terrible threats of my
Eternal Father: justice will punish them. Even in punishing, it is always my
love, my infinite love. S (27-6-52)
My children, my
children, love, love Jesus, love, love Mary!
Examine yourselves: it
is urgent. Make reparation, make reparation to our divine Hearts!
Oh, the world, Oh the
world, which offends the Lord so much! The world, the poor world cannot defy the
justice of my Eternal Father with greater evil.
The times are grave,
the times are grave!… S (22-8-52)
Be alert, be alert! It is Jesus who is
warning you, it is Jesus who is advising you, it is Jesus who is imploring you.
Be alert, be alert, do
not be neglectful, my children! You do not have time to look back!
The Father who advises you, loves you
more than all the parents on earth. S (26-9-52
So many invitations, so
many remonstrations! And poor humanity takes no notice!
It is a time, a day for
tears, many tears, and not for joys, for false joys.
S (17-7-53)
Quick, quick! Ah, if
the Lord’s justice falls, the world will be struck with terror.
Even just souls will
feel it. But this will be so that I can reap a harvest of reparation from them,
so that many other souls can still be saved. S (23-7-54)
Never has humanity seen, never has
Heaven contemplated such a conflagration of vice, wickedness and crime! Sin has
never reached so great a height! S (6-5-55)
2 - Convert
yourselves, come to Me!
O the world, if it does
not convert! (...)
The hatred, the revenge, the pride, the
ambition still continue in the men’s hearts. They think, they prepare themselves
for new wars. (World War II had finished a little while before, and we know
what was to come!)
I want to prostrate myself before each
man and to ask him not to offend Me. S (14-6-46)
Do penance, amend your
lives, men must turn toward Jesus!
If they do not do this,
retaliation will be swift, there will be great destruction only a small number
of people will be left.
I want a new world: a pure world! S
(20-12-46)
It is Jesus who invites to prayer, to
penance, to a life of purity and love! S (9-9-49)
Demand reparation for
the sins of lust, for the iniquities of husbands and also of pious souls and
those consecrated to Me.
Demand reparation for
all vanity! Why so much wastefulness?
I can say, and with
good reason, what Judas said of Me: “Why so much wastefulness?”
This wastefulness cries
to the heaven! What is spent in vanity would relieve the hunger of all the
starving, would clothe all the naked! S (5-5-50)
I want my tears to fall
on the entire world, as they did long ago on the ungrateful city (Jerusalem).
(...)
Pray, pray much and do
constant penance! S (29-12-50)
Hear who it is who
speaks, who it is who wants you: it is Jesus who is your life. Come to Me, all
of you!
I call each of you by
name, I want you in my divine Heart: come to Me, all of you! Love Me! Do not sin
any more.
I am the one! Do not
seek elsewhere.
Quick, Quick! This
invitation is of Jesus.
Quick, quick: more
prayer, more penance.
Quick, quick reform you
life, your habits.
Quick, quick, my
children!
Ah, for how many is
this invitation too late! I called, I invited when there was still time. How
many, O how many have already received the justice of my Father!
And why? Because they
had not listened to the divine voice, to the invitation of Heaven.
Many have already
fallen to divine justice and more will fall. (...) S (19-1-51)
The world, the world,
poor world! Oh, if it would convince itself that it must return to its path and
hurried to come to my divine Heart! I am a Father (because all things had been
created by Him), and as a Father I gave blood and I gave life. I am a Father
and, as a Father, I punish to teach and punish to save. (...) S (18-5-51)
Listen, listen! Hear
the wounded voice of Jesus: let there be prayer, let there be much prayer and
immense penance. (…)
Have compassion on the
divine Heart of Jesus! Amend your ways, amend your ways! Jesus asks it of you:
leave lust, and vanity and all sin! S (19-10-51)
Avoid, as much as you
can, everything around you that could be offensive to Jesus and His Blessed
Mother. Listen: do not sin more! (…)
Love, love this divine
Heart surrounded by thorns, pierced by so many daggers! S (28-12-51)
Look for Jesus, His
interests, his laws. Abandon sin! (...) Go and meet Jesus, because he is
searching for you. (…) He is always on the move, searching for you.
(...) Jesus is among you as long ago he
was among the apostles: fill yourselves of His graces, His treasures, His love.
S (23-5-52)
Be alert, alert! Listen, listen! (...)
Jesus is thirsting for your souls, Jesus wants to possess your hearts. I want
pure hearts, I want loving hearts. (...) Leave sin, leave sin and the false
illusions of the world!
I made myself your brother, I made
myself like you, I lived like you, I died on a cross to give you Heaven.
And in exchange, what
reward does my divine Heart receive? The spear, the renewal of my passion,
continual ingratitude. My wounded chest and my pierced Hear. That is how it was
on the summit of Golgotha. It continues to be the same each moment. (...) Come
to Jesus who calls you, who wants you, who yearns and sighs for you! S (27-6-52)
I came to this Calvary,
for the mediation of my chosen victim: this is the continuation of the work of
Calvary over 20 centuries. I am here, I am here to call, I am here to implore:
Come, my children, come to Me all of you. Come to my divine Heart to seek balm
for all your wounds. I want to cure you and to forget that you have offended Me
so much. (...)
Listen! Listen! Prepare
yourself for battle. Fill yourself with Jesus to be strong. The Eternal Father,
the Eternal Father is about to lay the full force of his justice upon the land.
O Poor world which does not listen to
the voice of Jesus and His Blessed Mother. S (11-7-52)
The divine Heart of
Jesus comes to ask you, to ask you with its infinite love. (...)
Jesus asks you, asks
you with insistence: do not sin any more, do not sin any more! Crush vanities,
pleasures, everything which is sinful under your feet.
It is Jesus who speaks, it is Jesus who
asks this with all His love, with all the tenderness of His divine Heart: turn
back, turn back, follow the Lord! S (18-7-52)
Hasten to leave the false flatteries of
this world! Hasten to love Jesus, to suffer for Jesus, to give your life for
Him, if necessary!
The world, the world,
the poor world! The Lord’s anger awaits it (...)
Come to Me, cold
hearts, come to Me, hard-hearted ones!
Come to warm
yourselves, come to set yourselves on fire in the burning furnace of my divine
Heart! Come to ignite yourselves, come and model yourselves on the divine model,
which is Jesus! S (1-8-52)
The Lord’s mercy is great; it is very
great, infinitely great.
His justice is severe, infinitely
severe. He is infinite mercy, He is infinite severity.
Make reparation, make reparation. Listen
carefully: Jesus pardons, He wants to pardon; the Lord wants your repentance.
(…)
Be alert, alert! The
Lord beseeches you: do not sin, do not sin! God’s justice is severe; it is very
severe. S (28-11-52)
I see, I see the death
of souls by the millions, by the millions.
Pray, do penance, amend
your lives!
Jesus beseeches, Jesus implores because
He loves so very much, He loves infinitely. S (26-12-52)
Glory, glory to the Lord! Listen,
listen: it is Jesus who speaks. Pay attention, pay attention to what He will ask
for.
I come to ask for purity and the love of
hearts, I come to ask to for a perfect life in the fulfilment of your duty
towards your Creator.
I come to beseech: be
attentive, my children! I want the love of your hearts, I want the purity of
your life.
Spread the word that I
want to be loved, that I want all men to be pure, that I want all hearts to love
Me and serve Me faithfully. S (2-1-53
Come to Me, come to Me,
dear children of my divine blood!
Dear children, dear children – what
tender words!
Dear children, dear
children, loving words coming from the Heart of God, through the lips of the
great victim of this Calvary, of the greatest victim who Jesus chose from this
earth in this century to be immolated for the biggest vices, the biggest sins in
biggest flood of iniquities.
I am sad, very sad. I
am sad and I weep…
S (20-2-53)
Come to Me! I want to
be loved! Listen, pay attention: abandon sin, abandon vanities, come to your
God!
Jesus who came down
from Heaven, came down for love, speaks to you, to advise you, to save you.
I died on Calvary. I
died to give life, and it was for love alone. (…)
I want to save the
world, I want to save mankind, I want to save my children! S (27-3-53)
What does Jesus come to
say to you? He comes to say that He loves you, He loves you, He loves you and He
wants your love.
Listen to Me, listen, accept my
invitation: come to my divine Heart. You are my children, you are my children!
Pay attention, pay attention to the Father who invites you: abandon earthly
things, leave the world, think about Heaven, live for Heaven! (…)
The Lord calls you, my
children, my children! The times are grave, the hour is nigh! S (19-6-53)
Jesus comes down from
Heaven to earth. He comes down for love, full of the impetuosity of love for
you. Few, very few are those who profit from my graces. I came down for love and
everything I do, I do for love of your souls.
Woe to them who do not
profit from my divine graces! Woe to them who let my divine voice pass by like
the breeze that disappears!
Stop, everybody stop your sinning! Come
now, come quickly to encounter my divine Heart! S (26-6-53)
My divine Heart spills blood: the stabs
and thrusts of grave sins wound it. The vanity and the dishonesty on beaches, in
the cinemas and in the discos wound Me. Horrible sins are committed in the
casinos and in the houses of vice. There are sins in the family, sins in all
states of life. Ah, how much my divine Heart suffers!
Pay attention, pay
attention to the most tender voice of your Lord! Pay attention, pay attention to
the most loving plea of His Heart! Come to Me all you who have wandered, come to
Me you all who are cold: I want to pardon you, I want to warm you. Come to Me,
come to Me all that are sick: I want to cure you, I want to heal your souls. S
(4-9-53)
Here is Jesus, the
Jesus of souls, the Jesus of sinners. (...) So many, so many colloquies have
been for the sinners (public ecstasies). So many teachings, so much proof of
Jesus’ love.
Come to Me, my
children! It is my divine Heart that calls you, it is my loving Heart that wants
you. (...)
My divine Heart is
crazed, crazed, crazed with pain: it suffers because it loves, loves because it
suffers.
The pain, the pain, my
children, pain is biting at my divine Heart.
My love is intense, My
love is intense.
Hasten back, hasten
back!
Listen to the tender
and sweet voice of Jesus; hear the sorrowful voice, the aching voice, aching
voice of the most loving Jesus! S (6-11-53)
This ecstasy, parts of which were sung,
was recorded.
Learn, learn from this
Calvary!
Learn from Jesus who is
pure, meek and humble of Heart.
Learn, learn, my
children, learn to love, learn to suffer, learn to take up your cross!
I am the Master, I am
the Model that you must imitate. Learn from Me! (...)
Do you want Paradise?
Follow my steps: do not sin any more. Come soon, come while it is time, come to
my Heart!
I can no longer, I can
no longer restrain the justice of my Father.
Hard, hard expression:
He cannot, Jesus can no longer hold back the avenging justice of His Eternal
Father! S (27-11-53)
Vigilance, vigilance in
the Church! Vigilance, the Head, the Heads of the Church!
The Church, the Church,
first the Church!
The Church, the Church!
Oh, what suffering for my divine Heart and for the immaculate Heart of my
blessed Mother!
Vigilance, vigilance,
the Heads of Nations. What poison, what treason! Penance, penance and prayer!
A new life for the
world, a new life for the sake of God! S (24-9-54)
3 - Aids for
conversion
Prayer and penance
are the two indispensable means of conversion, but they are not enough! We
Christians have a yet stronger aid, which comes to us directly from God: the
Eucharist!
In this last section
some ecstatic outbursts are presented that necessarily relate to this
inestimable gift of Jesus: his own Person!
Far from heaven, far
from Jesus are those who are far from the tabernacle.
I want souls, many
truly Eucharistic souls. (...)
Poor persons those who do not want to
know and to love the Lord of the tabernacle! Poor persons those who do not want
to see with that light that the tabernacle sheds! (...) S (11-9-53)
The Rosary, the Eucharist, my Body and
my Blood! The Eucharist, the Eucharist, with my victims: here is the salvation
of the world! S (29-10-54)
I am here (in the
tabernacle) for love alone.
Men do not understand
this love. I am here to be food and life. Men do not want to feed themselves and
to live my life! S (26-11-54)
I am there in the
tabernacle in this pure Host, in Body, Soul and Deity (...)
May they come with
their pure hearts, pure and full of longing!
If they come to the
tabernacle with a good disposition and to pray the Rosary, or a part of it,
every day, nothing more is necessary to deflect the justice of God.
The Rosary, the
tabernacle and my victims, the victim of this Calvary, are sufficient for
the world to be given pardon and peace.
Who comes to the
tabernacle lives in purity.
Who lives in the shade
of my blessed Mother reflects Her purity.
This is the way
humanity can live the new, pure, holy life, before this small room so often
recommended by Me. S (10-12-54)
4– Alexandrina, the
messenger of Jesus
In this paragraph
are presented fragments that reveal the role of missionary which Jesus entrusted
to His beloved Alexandrina. This role is well illustrated in the image on the
cover.
I will put charm onto
your lips, into your looks; into your heart I will put tenderness, compassion,
and love.
Everything in you is
transparent, everything is communicated through you.
Souls come to receive
from you the things of Heaven. Rescue them, have pity on the world! S (9-1-48)
It is through you that I give myself to
souls; it is through you that they come to Me.
I love you and you love
Me; you live as I want you to: you live my life. S (8-12-50)
You are of Jesus, you
live the life of Jesus, you give to souls what is of Jesus. S (9-3-45)
The martyrdom which you
suffer is the greatest means of salvation (she is a soul-victim).
Give yourself, give
your full self to souls. I give myself to them with you and through you. (…)
Work so that souls know Me! Show them the love of my heart. S (5-6-45)
Dear daughter, light of the world,
salvation of the world, light of souls, fire of hearts! Give yourself all
through my divine love to souls, give them everything that you receive from Me.
S (29-6-45)
When I appear to you showing the
abundant rays of my divine Heart it is to satiate the thirst that I have for you
and to give my love to you in abundance so that you can distribute the same to
souls. S (3-4-45)
Receive all this divine
life, give it to the hungry world, give it to the world which is in such danger.
I have offered it to you, I have
entrusted it to you. S (2-2-45)
We know that just
such a offering occurred during the ecstasy of the Feast of the Immaculate
Conception 1944, when the Heavenly Mother was present and had said to her:
I come with
my divine Son to offer humanity to you and to enclose it in your heart.
(…)
Dear daughter, beloved
of my Jesus, receive the life by which you live
(remember that since
1942 she had fed exclusively on the Eucharistic Jesus and some drops of His
Blood), receive the life of Heaven. Receive it and give it to souls. S (8-12-44)
Alexandrina lived
this offering as a martyrdom. About two months later she will say:
O Jesus, look at this
insanity of love, look at this martyrdom which consumes! What must I do for the
world? (…) S (15-2-45)
And about one month
later she will have this relief:
I am mother, but oh,
what an insane mother! I am mother who cries for the loss of her children. I am
mother who cannot bear to see them in so much disorder, so much misery, so much
sin! (what would she say today, half century later, after the sins committed
in the meantime?) Ah my Jesus, what can I do? S (6-3-45)
In May 1945, feeling
herself incapable of giving the world the love it needs, she thanks Jesus
for the love she has received from Him and says:
- My Jesus, give this
love of yours to all hearts, give it to all souls!
- You give out to all,
dear daughter, I authorize you: you are the mistress of my divine Heart, you are
chatelaine of my love.
Give it, distribute it
as you want. I say ‘as you want’, because your desires are mine.
- Jesus, my heart is
burning with such intensity!
- Rejoice, my beloved:
it is my divine love that burns you. S (25-5-45)
Alexandrina, in her
great humility, is never proud. Even the very beautiful affirmation of
Jesus “your desires are mine” is not enough to let her seek repose in
its implication. Let us read what she dictates in June 1950:
I saw His breast open
and he opened His divine heart. From it came a shower of gold that, instead of
falling to the ground, came to my heart. The more gold that left the Heart of
Jesus, the more my heart was filled with light and the more intensely the fire
burnt within me.
- I am burning, my
Jesus. May You be blessed for having given me so much! Teach me to distribute
your love so as to please You! S (16-6-50)
Jesus summerizes
this mission beautifully:
Fill yourself to
overflowing, burn yourself to a furnace.
S (10-9-48)
Alexandrina sorely
feels her own inadequacy, she allows herself to be filled. Therefore Jesus can
say to her:
My daughter, We, my
Father and the Holy Spirit, place Ourselves forever on the throne of royalty,
the throne of your heart. The Holy Spirit will fill you with His gifts, His
love, His light.
And do you know why, my
beloved spouse? So that you may communicate it to souls. To fill their hearts
with what yours is full of: love, grace, the divine riches. S (1-6-46)
Trust, treasurer of Jesus, storehouse of
His divine treasures, trust in this Heart that loves you. Receive the fire of
this Heart enraptured with love for you.
Receive it in abundance and give it
those you love. Give it to them: it is a gift from Heaven, a gift that I give
through you. Fill them full of my love and give to the world what is yours. S
(28-12-45)
We have to realize that to receive the
gifts it is necessary to desire them! Jesus says to her:
It is love, my
daughter: it is the love of your Jesus. Protect it for yourself, protect it for
souls, give it to them in abundance. (…)
When anybody says that
he wants his sins pardoned, promise him that Jesus pardons them. When anybody
says that say that he wants to go to Heaven, assure him, in silence, of
salvation.
Go, my daughter,
charmed one of Jesus. Go and use my charms to attract souls to Me, as you
attracted Me to you. I was enchanted with you.
Many souls will become enchanted with
you, because they are my enchantments you are using. S (23-1-48)
Also in the ecstasies Jesus uses the
comparison of the water and the fire with Alexandrina, as it is used in the
Gospel, to represent grace and love:
Give to souls the
riches you receive from Me. Ask for them so that I and My blessed Mother will be
loved. Communicate with them, make them drink of the crystalline water of your
virtues. Enflame them with the burning fire of your heart. Smile while carrying
the cross. Suffer and love, always smiling.
Courage, courage! Take
my love and go in peace. Give the world my peace.
S (12-5-50)
See how Alexandrina,
to fulfil her mission to save souls, acknowledges that she thirsts to drink from
that divine source that is her Jesus.
I feel strongly
attracted to go and drink from the fountain. I do not stop drinking for one
instant. S (18-10-46)
I am obliged to go to drink from this
fountain that seems to me to be the source of the Jesus’ Heart. I feel obliged
to drink, I feel obliged to pass on the same drink, to water souls with my lips.
S (25-10-46)
I feel as if I was a well from which
people don’t cease for an instant to draw water. What activity! This water that
is drawn spurts upwards. Whoever wants to may drink from it. This well is
inexhaustible, It never goes dry; it is always full of water.
It is in me, but it is not mine; it is
under my control, but it does not belong to me. However I am very anxious to
distribute it, to give it to everyone to drink: I feel that it is the water of
salvation.
Oh, how much I want to
spread it around! To give away what does not belong to me, and I have no
scruples about it! I steal without fear of being punished by the owner!
O my God, my God, I
want to give it all away, all of it, all this water. I want to plunge the whole
world into it. I die, Jesus, I die with anxiety! S (2-5-47)
5- Alexandrina and
the Eucharist
In this paragraph
Alexandrina no longer speaks with the voice of Jesus, but she transmits directly
from her heart. But it is clear that her primary source is always Jesus, because
Alexandrina has been formed in His school.
These ‘effusions’
complete the preceding paragraph.
They are so
presented that, contemplating the heart of Alexandrina burning with such love
for her Eucharistic Jesus, we are left entranced by Him, and impelled to
imitate her!
Let the attitude of
that heart be the star that guides our path. Let us always have our eyes fixed
on that goal, even if our insufficiency prevents us from reaching it.
But we will always
be approaching it, and be very close, with the help of this highly privileged
Beata.
Today I received Jesus
(In the Eucharistic). (...) I would like to hug Him with one everlasting hug. I
wanted to burn and to be burnt: to throw my life into love’s flames. L (26-2-40)
I received my Jesus: I was in Him and He
in me, as if we were one. O, how sweet is the life of love! What will be the
life of Heaven! L (17-4-41)
After Communion. I felt
my soul being flooded with His real presence. It gave me the strength to sing
and to pray until late afternoon. L (2-5-41)
The following
fragments had been taken from the little volume“Random Thoughts” and are not
dated.
The tabernacle, my
dwelling! My heaven, my heaven!
Ah, how happy I am
living with Jesus in the Eucharist! (p. 48)
I want to enter in Your
tabernacle and to be there always. I feel well just being alone next to You.
What sweet food is Your Eucharist. (p. 49)
Jesus, I want to die of
love for Your Eucharist.
O You are food, O You are life, O You
are love, O you are everything to me!” (p. 51)
O my Jesus, You know well that my only
desire is to be always present in Your tabernacles, I do not forget that, not
for one instant. Give me the strength, my Jesus, to remember that always. (p.
58)
And finally, this
extract dictated by Alexandrina, at the request of Fr Pasquale after a
Communion. It is collected in
Random Thoughts, p.
48.
But it is prseerved in
Balasar, in a document that has the date: 6-9-44, the beginning of Fr Pasquale’s
time as spiritual director of Alexandrina.
The All descended to the nothing.
The Mighty Lord descended to poverty.
Love descended to coldness,
to indifference, to misery, to indignity.
What a great love is that of Jesus!
You came down from the highest to the
lowest.
Jesus, give me fire, give me love;
love to burn me, love to kill me.
I want to live and to die of love.
Jesus, may Your divine love be my life.
May it and only it be my death.
Jesus, I want to love You:
to love You madly,
to love You until I die of love.
Jesus, I want to be Your chosen one,
the object of Your delirium of love...
to be lost in the immensity of Your love.
